We are hiring an Advisor External Affairs.





Duties and responsibilities:

• Advise and support the Principal Advisor, External Affairs in mapping, developing, and tracking relationships with government elected officials, non-government organisations, and third party advocates (TPAs) as assigned;
• Develop, maintain, and manage relationships conducive for information and data collection for assigned stakeholders, individuals and groups;
• Facilitate projects and initiatives with government officials to exchange information on business activities and decisions that may impact OT operations;
• Monitor external environment of the business to identify potential risks likely to impact Oyu Tolgoi’s business interests and social license to operate;
• Provide situational analysis and engagement planning advice for the government and stakeholder relations team;
• Contribute to production of specialized internal deliverables, including but not limited to, regular political analysis reports, issues tracking, and stakeholder mapping;
• Align stakeholder engagement strategy and planning with other internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement activities to compliment and reinforce efforts;
• Coordinate strategic activities across the organization;
• Align work with other Communications department teams and relevant teams across the business;
• Ensure work and activities conform to The way we work and other compliance standards;
• Perform other duties as required from time-to-time.
 

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
  • Degree in political science, law, public relations, social sciences and other relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
  • Strong strategist with ability to understand complex issues;
  • Intuitive and able to anticipate issues;
  • Flexible and adaptable to fast changing priorities;
  • Excellent understanding of issues in Mongolia;
  • Strong commitment to highest ethical standards;

Contract term: 1 year
